Job Description
Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor (AVC) & Campus Architect, the Director of Project Management is responsible for the delivery of facilities projects through the management of project managers and other professionals in support of the construction delivery process. Responsible for overall unit fiscal and resource management, including recharge rate development and rollout. Provides leadership on matters related to planning, design, and construction, and on the design/build delivery of projects. In support of the AVC & Campus Architect, is involved in the strategic and long-range planning for the development of future campus projects. Prepares and presents documentation for appropriate approvals to Campus committees, community programs, the Chancellor and Executive staff, the Office of the President Staff, the Board of Regents, and the Legislature, as requested. The full salary range for the Director of Project Management is $126,700.00 - $248,700.00 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Demonstrated ability to manage a broad scope of projects, to coordinate the activities of various groups of planning and design professionals, and to interface with a wide range of people both within and outside the University system. Thorough financial, budgeting and cost management skills, including interacting with and synthesizing widely divergent viewpoints and interests. Demonstrated ability to conduct complex analyses to provide essential information necessary for operational decision making. Demonstrated skill in developing, implementing, and evaluating performance metrics for projects ranging in size, complexity, innovation, and comprehensiveness. Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills, including skill to work effectively with multiple constituencies to advance organizational objectives. Ability to implement University policy and procedures related to planning and capital development. Excellent organizational skills including skill in consistently and effectively meeting budget and time deadlines. Proven ability to communicate effectively through verbal, written and graphic means. Excellent skills to lead, direct and manage personnel including selection, training, evaluating and as required taking corrective action. Thorough knowledge of and experience in planning, design, construction, environmental issues, legal issues, federal, state and local laws, regulations and practices governing planning, building design and construction, state and federal legislative processes. Strong team orientation and collaborative style; position requires an inclusive approach to engaging stakeholders across the campus in ways that lead to good business decisions and buy-in.
