Setting: Short Term Acute Care Hospital
This travel temporary assignment requires an Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology, plus CST certification and BLS. The role supports surgical teams in a high-demand environment and uses Epic EMR for documentation.

Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate for surgical procedures; maintain sterile technique and assist the team with instrument handling.
- Prepare the operating room, arrange sterile supplies, and verify instrument and count accuracy with the circulating nurse.
- Pass instruments, equipment, and implants; anticipate surgeon needs and maintain a clean, organized field.
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and localization of operative sites; help with specimen labeling as needed.
- Maintain intraoperative documentation and counts in the Epic EMR per policy; report any discrepancies.
- Adhere to universal precautions, infection control practices, and equipment safety standards.

Requirements
- Associate Degree or Certificate of Program Completion in Surgical Technology: Required
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST): Required
- AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
- Epic EMR experience or familiarity: Preferred
- Ability to work 4x10-hour day shifts; day shift schedule with Thursdays off
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced surgical environment and collaborate with the team
