Job Description

Cross Timbers is seeking an experienced Surgical Scheduler to join our healthcare team. This role is essential in coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures for multiple facilities, ensuring efficient use of resources and smooth patient flow. The ideal candidate must have at least 2 years of surgery scheduling experience, with proven ability to manage complex schedules for doctors working across various locations. The Surgical Scheduler will serve as a vital link between surgeons, patients, and clinical staff to facilitate timely and accurate surgery bookings. Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and effective communication are critical for success in this role. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and schedule surgical procedures for multiple facilities, ensuring accuracy and adherence to surgeon availability.

  • Manage surgical calendars, resolve scheduling conflicts, and optimize operating room utilization.
  • Verify patient information, insurance coverage, and obtain necessary authorizations before surgery.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surgical scheduling protocols and healthcare regulations.
  • Assist patients with scheduling inquiries and provide timely updates regarding their surgical appointments.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to support a smooth surgical process from scheduling to post-operative follow-up.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in surgery scheduling, preferably in a multi-facility healthcare environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple complex schedules simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate between various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in surgical scheduling software and electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to verify patient information and insurance details accurately.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality standards (e.g., HIPAA) is required.
