Job Description

We are a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to serving the Baltimore community. With a growing team and expanding programs, we are seeking an Accountant to support our corporate accounting function and ensure accuracy across all financial operations. This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative corporate accounting team and be mentored directly by our Controller, a CPA with a background at CohnReznick.

This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence Tuesday–Thursday, with remote flexibility on Mondays and Fridays.

Responsibilities

• Support and help lead components of the month-end close process
• Prepare and review bank reconciliations for multiple accounts
• Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
• Assist with fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, and depreciation
• Perform multi-entity accounting tasks, including intercompany reconciliations
• Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation
• Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting questions and ensure timely processing
• Maintain organized, audit-ready records and documentation

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
• Experience assisting or leading the month-end close process (required)
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting practices
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams
• Experience with intercompany and multi-entity accounting (preferred, not required)
