Job Description



Are you a forward-thinking morning show producer with sharp news instincts, strong production sensibilities, and the ability to manage time effectively under pressure? Do you excel in a fast-moving newsroom that delivers content across both broadcast and streaming platforms? If so, NBC Bay Area would love to connect with you.

As a Morning Show Producer, you will collaborate with newsroom staff to craft engaging, high-impact morning newscasts and content. We’re seeking a journalist who embraces a multi-platform approach, brings exceptional writing and producing skills, and has a creative vision to help Move the Bay Area Forward. Familiarity with the local market is a strong plus.

Characteristics:

  • Strong news writing skills with the ability to edit, produce, and gather content under intense deadline pressure without compromising accuracy or credibility
  • Innovative mindset with a desire to create newscasts and stories in fresh, engaging ways across multiple platforms
  • Solid understanding of how to effectively use social media to enhance storytelling and drive audience engagement
  • Passion for researching and developing stories on tight timelines
  • Ability to respond to breaking news with urgency and accuracy
  • Deep interest in the Bay Area, with an understanding of how to represent and connect with the viewer
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and able to work effectively with digital editors, reporters, assignment editors, writers, and fellow producers

Qualifications



Qualifications

:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting, Journalism, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience producing newscasts in a television newsroom
  • Experience writing and producing in a mid-market news environment required
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stories and tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced setting

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must submit a resume/CV through to be considered
  • Must be willing to work in San Jose, CA
  • Must have a flexible schedule, including the ability to work any shift in a 24/7 newsroom, as well as weekends, extended hours, and travel on short notice
  • Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Additional Requirements:

  • Required On-Site : This position is required to be performed full-time from our station in San Jose, CA.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range: $70,000 - $105,000
