Under the supervision of the Board of Psychology’s (Board) Central Services Manager (Supervisor I), the Analyst II performs with independence the most complex analytical duties within the Central Services Unit, including the analysis of legislation and regulations and oversight of the Board’s budget. The Analyst II may attend Board and committee meetings, may make presentations to Board and committee members.

Working Conditions

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.

Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period as outlined on "Section 2113 - Personal Leave Program (PLP)" of the CalHR Manual. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.

The incumbent works up to 40 hours per week in an office setting, with artificial light and temperature control. The ability to use a personal computer and telephone is essential. Sitting and standing consistent with office work, and occasional lifting of no more than 20 pounds. The incumbent is also required to professionally and tactfully interact with the public, licensees, and other contacts, and use good judgment at all times. Travel may be required throughout the state an assigned geographical area by various methods of transportation.

This position may be eligible for a hybrid telework schedule in accordance with the Statewide Telework Policy and Department of Consumers Telework Policy for incumbent residing in California. A hybrid telework schedule includes reporting to the office on a weekly basis and as needed/required.


Special Requirements

Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI)

Title 11, Section 703(d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, incumbents in this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program matters at all times.

Conflict of Interest (COI)

This position is subject to Title 16, section 3830 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Consumer Affairs’ Conflict of Interest Regulations.  The incumbent is required to submit a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1, and within 30 days of leaving office.
