Job Description

As an Install Technician/Carpenter Helper, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial kitchen equipment. This includes ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and ventilation systems. Your role will ensure that all equipment is functioning properly and complies with safety standards. You will also maintain detailed records and interact with customers to understand their needs and provide guidance.

Responsibilities

• Install new kitchen equipment such as ovens, refrigerators, dishwashers, and ventilation systems.
• Perform regular maintenance checks to ensure equipment functionality.
• Troubleshoot and repair faulty equipment, addressing issues like leaks, faulty wiring, and worn-out parts.
• Ensure all installations and repairs comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Keep detailed records of installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide guidance on equipment use and maintenance.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in construction, carpentry, and framing.
• Ability to use hand and power tools effectively.
• Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints.
• Mechanical aptitude and skills in equipment installation.
• General labor and assembly skills.
• Experience in commercial construction.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Post-secondary education in HVAC, electrical engineering, or culinary arts is preferred.
• Completion of a vocational or technical training program focused on appliance installation.
• Practical experience through an apprenticeship under experienced technicians.
• Certifications from CFESA or NATE for refrigeration and HVAC skills.

Work Environment

Work is primarily conducted in commercial kitchens within a territory ranging from NYC to DC. You will encounter a variety of environments, including new constructions and renovations. The typical workweek is Monday to Friday with a 7am start, with occasional weekend work and potential overtime. Expect 2-3 day job assignments in locations such as West Chester University, Honeygrow, Wawa, Mission BBQ, and Miami Marlins Stadium.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Prospect Park, PA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Prospect Park,PA.
