Description At the Hyatt Regency New Orleans, the Event Concierge program is designed to not only meet - but consistently exceed - the expectations of our meeting planners and guests. As an Event Concierge, you will serve as a dedicated, on-site extension of the planner's team, ensuring every meeting and event runs seamlessly from start to finish. Constantly present on the floor and fully at the disposal of the client, you'll anticipate needs, resolve issues quickly, and provide thoughtful, personalized service throughout the planner's stay. What You'll Do - Act as the primary liaison between the hotel and the meeting planner , ensuring clear and consistent communication
- Perform detailed function room inspections prior to event start times to confirm setup, equipment, and layout meet client specifications
- Remain constantly on the floor and accessible to clients via two-way radio (F&B channel)
- Respond to client requests within 5 minutes and resolve issues within 15 minutes whenever possible
- Monitor and manage the planner's personal and practical needs throughout the day
- Provide thoughtful touches and added services, especially for repeat customers
- Coordinate with engineering through maintenance walkthroughs and escalate issues as needed
- Conduct cleanliness walkthroughs of meeting rooms, back hallways, and staff areas
- Attend pre-convention, tie-down, and planning meetings
- Participate in meet-and-greet site inspections when possible
- Confirm VIP meeting rooms and setups are prepared according to expectations
- Monitor traffic flow, assist with elevator turns, and support crowd management during peak times
- Locate, track, and retrieve boxes or materials as needed
- Monitor trash levels in meeting rooms and offices
- Arrange replacement signage through the business center when handwritten signs are noted
- Deliver service recovery , turning potential negative experiences into positive ones before guest departure
- Maintain constant communication with planners throughout their stay
- Support special projects as scheduling allows
- Learn group programs in detail to proactively support event needs
- Anticipate guest needs before they become requests
