Assistant Dairy Herdsperson position available on a modern 1,000 plus cow farm in Central New York. Responsibilities include observing heats and overall health of heifers, observation of health of all animals from birth to calving, feeding, milking of fresh special needs cows, pasture management and overseeing the washing of the milking system. Goals include maintaining and improving growth rates in heifers and maintaining low death rates for calves and heifers. Must pay close attention to details and health issues. MUST be a dependable, reliable team player with good time management and communications skills and have a positive attitude and work ethic. Salary based on experience. Prefer candidate with at least 10 years experience working with heifers/calves.
