Accounting Assistant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with experience in accounting support, financial reporting, and general ledger activities within manufacturing, aerospace, engineering, or similar industries. The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment and be eager to learn and grow within the finance department.

Position Summary

The Accounting Assistant will support daily accounting operations, account reconciliations, financial reporting activities, and month-end close processes. This role requires a hands-on professional who is organized, dependable, and capable of managing multiple priorities with accuracy and efficiency. This position reports to the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with variance analysis and account research
• Maintain accounting records and supporting documentation
• Support external audit requests by gathering requested documentation
• Support ERP system data entry and accounting processes
• Previous experience with QuickBooks and JobBoss or similar ERP systems preferred
• Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 2–4 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, engineering, or related industries preferred
• Basic understanding of GAAP principles
• Experience with account reconciliations and general ledger activities
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Work Environment & Expectations

• 100% in-office position
• Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Additional hours may occasionally be required during month-end and year-end close periods
• Must be willing to learn new processes and procedures
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
• Reliable attendance is required
